BY—LAWS OF THE.
GREENFIELD TOWNSHIP FIREFIGHTER’S ASSOCIATION,
INC.
Adopted as amended, by unanimous vote on July
9, 2001
General
ARTICLE I: All members of the Greenfield Township Firemen’s
Association, Inc. must serve as a member of the Greenfield Township
Fire Department, or be voted as an Associate Member of the
association at a regular meeting of the Association by a majority
vote. Associate members are NOT required to be fire department
members.
ARTICLE II: All members must serve a period of not less than (6)
six months, on the Greenfield Township Firefighters Association,
Inc., to be a voting member of the Association.
ARTICLE III: No member holds an office if they have been a member
less than (2) two years.
ARTICLE IV: Adopt Roberts Rules of Order.
ARTICLE V: Any question, refer to Roberts Rules of Order.
ARTICLE VI: Any changes in the by—laws will be voted on by a
roll—call vote.
ARTICLE VII: Eight (8) voting members must be present to have a
quorum.
ARTICLE VIII: All bills due are to be paid.
ARTICLE IX: Special meetings or phone voting can be instituted by
the president.
ARTICLE X: The acceptance of these by—laws resends (voids) past
by-laws.
Section 2. Officers
ARTICLE I: The Association shall be governed by a President, Vice
President, Secretary, and a Treasurer.
ARTICLE II: Officers are elected by secret written ballot. They
will be elected annually at the December meeting of the Association.
ARTICLE III: The duties of the officers will be to: arrange for
and manage any or all social functions and fund raising events,
sponsored by the Department.
ARTICLE IV: The functions and duties of the officers shall in no
way interfere with those of the regular department officers who are
charged with responsibility for all fire service activities of the
Department.
ARTICLE V: Executive Board consists of (4) four elected officers:
President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
ARTICLE VI: Vice president on all committees of executive board
as a non—voting member.
ARTICLE VII: President appoints all members of committees from a
sign—up sheet.
ARTICLE VIII: Officers of Association cannot hold the same office
for more than (2) years consecutively with the exception of the
treasurer.
Section 3. Committees
ARTICLE I: Committees elect a chairman at the (1st) first
meeting.
ARTICLE II: President or committee chairman can remove anyone
from
committee for lack of duties.
ARTICLE III: Chairman or his appointee will present at monthly
meeting a
committee report.
ARTICLE IV: President reserves the right to attend all committee
meetings.
ARTICLE V: It is the chairman’s duty to maintain order at
meetings.
ARTICLE VI: Committees will be able to make minor changes without
approval of Association.
ARTICLE VII: Maximum of $150.00 to be spent by committees with
approval of the president and chairman.
Section 4. Elections
ARTICLE I: Written notice to Executive Board whether they will
accept an office.
ARTICLE II: Nominations for election of officers to be held the
(1st) first meeting in November. The elections of officers will be
held the (1st) first meeting in December.
ARTICLE III: All absentee ballots will be surrendered to the
secretary to be deposited in a locked ballot box.
